Volunteering

2019 SEASON

Reception and Administration

We are looking for someone to help with the day-to-day running of the Centre. This includes being a point of contact for our guests and course leaders,  managing bookings, liaising with the Holy Isle Ferry, managing finances.

You'll need experience with basic office systems but most important is to be someone who loves working with people and who has a readiness to multi-task.

This year we also have short- and some longer-term opportunities....

Our Kitchen Team provides vegan/vegetarian food for up to 60 guests and volunteers and works closely with our Garden Team to make the best use of their beautiful organic produce.

Our Housecare Team looks after the Centre and creates the environment to welcome our guests. The team works with Reception to welcome guests when they arrive and to look after them during their stay and also helps out in 'The Boathouse' - our Information Centre and shop - where we welcome day visitors.

Our Garden Team produces organic vegetables - grown as much as possible to bio-dynamic principles. The team manages all operations of vegetable gardening including preparing beds, seeding, transplanting, planting, weeding, compost making, harvesting. All our fresh produce goes to supply the Holy Isle kitchen.

Our Environment Manager is responsible for our tree enclosures, rhododendron and bracken control and path maintenance.

Guest Volunteers

Throughout our season, we welcome short-term Guest Volunteers, who offer 3 hours per day working in return for 25% reduction in  costs for board and lodging. This is often the best way to get to know Holy Isle because it allows you to make a connection with the Project and the volunteer staff while getting plenty of time and space for yourself.
