Course outline
The aim of this course will be to highlight the spacious awareness which can arise with yoga breathwork. Much emphasis on the course will be given to learning how to relax deeply in order to release the lungs and allow them to breathe freely. Relaxing body and breath can help unwind the mind and enhance meditation.
Pranayama techniques which safely guide the breathing body will be introduced, using sound and visualisation. We will also practice classic kapalabhati and nadi shodana. Silent sitting will be interspersed throughout. These practices will be anchored in the body with a morning asana class with Clare and afternoon restorative postures alongside pranayama with Jenny. Time will be allowed for informal questions and discussion.
This course is suitable for people with some experience of yoga and meditation of any method, who would like to go deeper. Experience of pranayama is not essential and the yoga postures will be basic.
